Khubetsov alan judo. European Championship in Poland. Second day. Full set. Alan Khubetsov: With Gamba I'm ready to turn the mountains of the Caucasus

// Special photo report about the Ossetian final at the European Championship in Prague

On Saturday, at the European Youth Judo Championship (under 23), an event long awaited by all Ossetian sports fans took place - the Ossetian final. And its authors were two wonderful spotmen from Vladikavkaz, Alan KHUBETSOV, who eventually won the gold medal, and Stanislav SEMENOV, who became the silver medalist.

Our website "Sports Ossetia" since last year hinted and hoped that such a final, pleasing to the eye and heart of the fan, in which the representatives of Ossetia would meet, would take place in Olympic London. And there seemed to be real reasons for this. Too impressive was the composition of our masters of freestyle wrestling. But it didn't work out. And our hopes were more than compensated by Artur Taymazov, now not only a three-time Olympic champion, but also the most titled freestyle wrestler in the history of the planet.

But now, after London, what did not work out for our wrestlers at the Olympics, the judokas did. Our guys eclipsed everyone at the European Championship. It is no coincidence that the official website of the competition posted in weight class up to 81 kg photos of only the final fight between Khubetsov and Semenov.

We invite you to enjoy these golden moments. And in order to make your ideas about the new European champion more complete, we suggest recalling his interview, which he gave to our site:

Ossetian final in Prague - what could be more attractive!

The golden throw that made Khubetsov the champion.

The pedestal where the two main steps are ours (on the left - Stanislav SEMENOV and Alan KHUBETSOV).

The second day of the ongoing European Judo Championship in spring Warsaw brought the Russian team three more medals. All are of different value.

Alan Khubetsov became the new European champion in the 81 kg category for the first time in his career, Alan's compatriot Aslan Lappinagov became the bronze medalist in the same weight, and the European "silver" in the weight of 73 kg, also the first in his career, went to the medalist of two world championships Musa Mogushkov.

Friday's awards, of course, were wonderful in and of themselves, and as evidence of the superiority of our athletes, and as a source of pride for every Russian fan, and as an element that strengthens the prestige of the national team on the international tatami. However, not only the result of our judokas was admired today by spectators and experts, but also by the quality of the fight, which was demonstrated by Russian athletes on the way to the podium. They were distinguished by confidence and strength, technicality and tactical literacy. Yes, Denis Yartsev, winner of the Grand Prix in Dusseldorf 2017 and prize-winner of competitions in Paris 2016, did not make it to the podium in the 73 kg category. In the quarterfinals, he got caught by Israeli Butbul, and in the repechage group he missed an attack from the silver medalist of the 2016 Games, Azerbaijani Oruzhov. But in each meeting, Yartsev surprised the audience and opponents so many times with the incredible sensitivity of the struggle and filigree technique that the broadcasters, who carried out the broadcast, repeated his throws on the big screen with pleasure.

Of course, the eyes were even more drawn to the tatami and screens with replays of the meeting with the participation of the emotional Aslan Lappinagov and Musa Mogushkov, and the focused Alan Khubetsov.

Two representatives of the Ossetian school of judo Aslan Lappinagov and Alan Khubetsov, according to the draw, got into different groups category of 81 kg, which means that we, knowing the potential of these young athletes, could hope for a Russian derby in the final. Winner of the European Youth Championship-2015 LAPPINAGOV in Warsaw, without much difficulty, he beautifully figured out the starting meeting with the Latvian Putins, and then confidently beat the dark-skinned Frenchman Ndiae. In the quarterfinals, Georgian Rekhviashvili, the finalist of the Paris tournament, had a “misfire”, and Aslan, despite all his efforts and numerous turns, could not win back the missed throw on the “waza-ari”. With annoyance, but still not losing his temper, Lappinagov moved to the consolation group. Here, first, 27 seconds before the final siren, he brought down the European champion among youth Bulgarian Ivanov on the tatami, securing the advantage in personal meetings, the score of which was opened in the final of Euro 2015 among athletes under 23 years old, and then, already in the fight for " bronze”, caught in flight and “nailed” to the tatami with an iron hold the winner of the Paris tournament Dutchman De Wit. Realizing the inevitability of his victory, Aslan even raised his hand triumphantly, without stopping the "osaekomi", for emotions were already overflowing.

“I don’t know if I would have won the award today if it weren’t for the doctor of our team,” Aslan admitted. - In the preliminary round, I fell on my hand and practically took my thumb out of the joint. It took me a while to recover and numb the pain. During the break, the doctor fixed my finger and I was able to somehow take the grip. That's why I'm very pleased with the "bronze". Yes, I could not compete for gold, I made a mistake in the semi-finals, and this mistake cannot be corrected. All the guys in the team came to the championship to win. I believe that this European award is just the beginning, my first step in this cycle. She will make me angrier in a good way. I will develop further. Bronze today, gold tomorrow.

Khubetsov I haven't made a single mistake all day. Yes, the first two bouts - with the Belgian Chuchi and the Pole Zhvarnovetsky, he did not finish ahead of schedule, but in the remaining three he “ran” over his opponents, as if on a tank. At the 22nd second of the quarter-finals, Alan knocked over the Moldavian Zaborochuk, with a brilliant trip and powerful hands he twisted a powerful throw in the semi-final with the Dutchman De Wit, and in the final, he incredibly skillfully outplayed the Tokyo Grand Slam medalist, the German Ressel, achieving a clear victory with his signature technique.

“My father brought me to the judo section in 2005, when I was eight years old. It was only a couple of kilometers to the hall - the section closest to the house, - said Khubetsov. - He perfected underturns on rubber and with sparring partners. We trained together with Aslan Lappinagov. I think my shots come from that job. In Warsaw, after two meetings of the preliminary tournament, he was able to quickly recover, and then “home preparations” went into action. Ezio came up before the fight and said: "Alan, you are a man, you are the strongest." That's enough for inspiration. The victory in Warsaw is just a step forward. Then we are waiting for the selection for the World Cup.

The most experienced member of the Russian team on this day is the bronze medalist of the 2011 and 2014 World Championships Musa MOGUSHKOV won his first European coinage award at the junior championship of the Old World ten years ago. The adult award of the continental championship in Warsaw was the first in his collection. Having fought in the first fight with the Montenegrin Gusich for all four minutes, Musa defeated the Romanian Cerchea in the second round with an advantage in “waza-ari”, and reached the quarterfinals to the silver medalist of the 2016 Games, the European champion Azerbaijani Oruzhev. A confident fight with a clear control of the grips and the tatami zone allowed Mogushkov to suppress the titled opponent and, having caught him at one moment, make a swift attack, which received a “waza-ari” rating. Keeping the advantage under the pressure of an opponent rushing for revenge took a lot of energy from the Russian, but two shidos could not spoil the desired outcome of the meeting. The semi-final showed that Mogushkov had enough power - having caught Yartsev's offender - the Israeli Butbul, on the ground, Musa did not let go of his opponent, wriggling and growling from impotence, from under the hold, no matter what. And here is the finale. And again, a young talent - 19-year-old Azerbaijani Heydarov, yesterday's junior, who in 2016 excelled in two European championships - under 21 and under 23 years old. In the very first grip, Musa suddenly jerked his hand away, almost crying out in pain - his fingers cramped. Trying to overcome the pain, the Russian in the pauses between grips stretched out his arm, kneaded his hand, but the discomfort and, most importantly, the inability to firmly grasp the opponent's kimono, did not go away. In a mutually inconclusive fight, the main four-minute period passed, and in the “golden speed” the unfortunate “shido” became decisive, depriving our athlete of the coveted “gold”.

“I have mixed feelings about this medal,” Musa admitted after the award. - On the one hand, the reward is worthy, but on the other hand, it is still a loss. I fought in Europe five times. Was the fifth, seventh, lost in the first grips. And today I managed to get to the podium .. My hand failed, which was twisted by a cramp, and there was simply not enough energy in the “Golden Speed”.

I have been on the team for a long time. This is the third Olympic cycle. I confess that I left my youthful maximalism in the previous two and now I look at the prospects realistically. I am already a member of the older generation and wisdom tells me not to look as far as the Tokyo Games. Today I'm on Europe, on a pedestal. Ahead of the August World Cup in Hungary, well, then we'll see how health allows. Squeezed like a lemon, I am unlikely to be able to take a worthy place in this life and benefit the country and the region.”

The Rio Olympic finalists blocked the path to the Euro 2017 awards for both Russians, who competed in the 63 kg category. The winner of the Grand Prix in Tashkent-2016 and the silver medalist of the Grand Slam in Tyumen-2016 Daria Davydova, in a worthy fight in the 1/8 finals, still did not escape from a powerful opponent Olympic champion Trsteniak, who eventually repeated last year's European success in Warsaw, and the third medalist of last year's Old World Championship, Ekaterina Valkova, in the same situation, but true, in the quarterfinals, lost to the silver medalist of the 2016 Games, Frenchwoman Abenen. In the repechage group, Katya missed a throw from an old friend - the vice-champion of Europe 2016, the Austrian judoka Unterwursacher, who also did not let Valkova into the semifinals last year.

After two days of the individual tournament in Warsaw, the Russian team, with six medals - two gold, three silver and one bronze, takes the lead in the medal standings, ahead of rivals from Ukraine (2-0-0) and France (1-1-1).

On Saturday, the individual European Championship in Warsaw will end with the fight in the five remaining categories: 90, 100 and over 100 kg for men and 78 and over 78 kg for women. Our athletes will compete in four weight categories.

The silver medalist of the Masters in Mexico 2016 and the Grand Prix tournament in Dusseldorf 2017 Khusen Khalmurzaev will start the day with a fight in group B against twice junior world vice-champion Sherazadishvili from Spain, the owner of two silver and two bronze medals world championships, the winner of the "Grand Slam" in Tokyo 2016 Kirill Denisov (100) in the first round will argue with the Ukrainian Romanyuk, and the winner of the youth Europe-2014 and the Grand Prix tournament in Tbilisi-2017 Kazbek Zankishiev in group C will compete with the prize-winner European Championship Lithuanian Bauza.

In the women's tournament, the vice-champion of the youth Europe-2016, medalist of the Grand Prix in Zagreb-2016 Antonina Shmeleva in group A of the 78 kg category will meet with the winner of the "Grand Slam" in Baku-2017 Dutch Steenhuis, and the winner of the "bronze" of the "Grand Slam" in Tokyo 2014 Ksenia Chibisova in group D category over 78 kg will compete against the German Buesov.

Alan Khubetsov: With Gamba I'm ready to turn the mountains of the Caucasus

At the European Championships in Warsaw, a 23-year-old lieutenant from North Ossetia, Alan Khubetsov, won the gold medal for the first time.

At the European Championships in Warsaw, a 23-year-old lieutenant from North Ossetia, Alan Khubetsov, won a gold medal for the first time, finishing three out of five fights ahead of schedule in his favor. The day before arriving in Vladikavkaz, where mass festivities are expected in honor of the new hero of Alania, Khubetsov told Soviet Sport in Moscow about his road to his first serious success in the international arena.

Alan Khubetsov came to the judo section at the age of eight, although he could have ended up in freestyle wrestling or continued to play football. But the young Ossetian did not want to pay money for football training, and in the judo hall, located a two-minute walk from the Khubetsovs' house, the boy began to train not for money, but for fame himself Alik Bekuzarov- mentor of the winner of the Olympic Games and World Championships, seven-time European champion Tamerlana Tmenova.

“THE WEDDING WAS 600 GUESTS. THIS IS NOT SO MUCH"

- Alan, why did Tamerlan Tmenov become your idol, and, say, not a football player of the local Alania? Football players have higher salaries than judokas, even European champions.
- If there was a freestyle wrestling hall near my house, I would become a wrestler. I love football very much and maybe I would continue to play this sport, but the coach of the football section said that you need to pay 150 rubles a month for classes. The money is small, but I was sorry to give it away. Although my parents say that I was great at chasing the ball. Football "Alania" went bankrupt, and it would be difficult for me to get into the team of masters.

- What do your parents do?
- In his youth, my father was engaged in freestyle wrestling and judo, but did not reach great heights in sports. Now he is retired. Mom is also retired, but she still works as a cook at the Ossetian Cuisine restaurant. There are three children in the family - I have two older sisters.

- Do you live with your parents?
– No, I got married and bought an apartment near my parents. My wife was the champion of the republic in fencing. There were 600 guests at our wedding, by Caucasian standards, this is an average wedding.

– Do you wrestle like a father and know how to cook like your mother?
“As a mom, I definitely can’t cook. Ossetian pies performed by her are poetry. As a cook, I can be trusted to fry minced meat over a fire.

"YOU ARE A MAN, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING"

- Judoists of the Russian national team are rarely at home, because they are constantly at the training camp, and you talk about your home with such love. Are you used to frequent separations from loved ones?
“My wife knew whom she was marrying, she knew that she would have to wait for me. We spend about 300 days at training camps during the year. But these four years that I was in the Russian team flew by like one day. So exciting were the trainings under the guidance of Ezio Gamba. This is a good training system, since it brings so many medals to Russian judoists at Olympic Games. For this, separation can be tolerated.

- Does Gamba play a big role in your life?
- When he says two words to you, you want to train with tripled energy.

- Two words of Gamba: “Fell - push-ups”?
- Not. He speaks in Russian: "You are a man, you can do anything." The word "man" he repeats often. You listen to him and believe unquestioningly. After winning the European Championship, he said: you are strong, you are a man! After such words, you are ready to roll not only all rivals, but also the mountains of the Caucasus.

- Have you fought all your opponents at the European Championship before?
- No, but I saw the fight on the tatami of each of them. The most difficult was the first fight against the Belgian, and in the final I met with the German, whom I lost to at the World Youth Championship in 2011. The revenge took place, because I went to the European Championship with one goal - to win. An inexhaustible thirst for victory is the best assistant to an athlete on the way to a big goal.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF TMENOV

- What prevented you from thinking like that before, because you have been training in the national team for the fifth year, and the big victory has come just now?
“Perhaps there was a lack of confidence. For example, two years ago I went to the European Games with the thought: at least to win bronze, in the end I took third place. When I looked at the Rio Olympic podium, where Russian judokas were climbing, I said to myself: listen, Alan, what's stopping you from being in their place?! Nothing! And this motivates me.

– The last time an Ossetian judoka won the European Championship was in 2008. It was Tamerlan Tmenov. Does he follow your performances?
- Yes. He congratulated me on my victory. But he no longer trains in our gym, because he is involved in politics. As a child, we all looked at him with an open mouth, and I am very pleased that now I, like Tamerlan Tmenov, like the silver medalist of the European Championship 2010 Batradz Kaytmazov, bring glory to our gym.

- What gifts for winning the European Championship are waiting for you in North Ossetia?
- Human attention of people is important to me, and let people give gifts what they want. The head of the Republic, Vyacheslav Bitarov, invited me over the phone, but I did not ask for any gifts.

ALAN'S ROAD TO GOLD EURO-2017

On the way to the 2017 European Championship final, Alan Khubetsov defeated Sami Chuchi (Belgium), Damian Shvarnovetsky (Poland), Nikon Zaborochuk (Moldova). In the semi-finals, he broke the resistance of the Dutchman Frank De Wit, and in the final he defeated the German Dominic Ressel. In the final three matches of the tournament, the Russian defeated his opponents with an ippon score.

EXPERT OPINION

"Khubetsov - a stubborn guy"

Alexey Poddubny, CSKA judo and sambo coach:

- In 2016, before the Rio Games, the coaching staff of the Russian national team in the weight category up to 81 kg considered two candidates for a trip to Brazil: Alan Khubetsov and Khasan Khalmurzaev. Both were born in 1993. At the 2016 European Championships in Kazan, Khubetsov could not take part due to injury, while Khalmurzaev won gold and became the first in Rio. These two judokas will be the main competitors for a trip to Tokyo 2020 during the Olympic cycle. Both have a valuable quality - they do not fall on the tatami. This is a huge plus for a judoka. Technique is good, but it is important to be persistent during the fight. Khubetsov is a stubborn guy, besides, he always prefers to attack, and if he has a hold, he will almost never miss his advantage.
